ScoreSide and MN Market (3 games into restart)

ScoreSide is very fortunate to be running campaigns supporting three great charities (Like A Girl and their sponsor True North Elite, Mile in My Shoes, and My Very Own Bed). We love working with our non-profit partners and we couldn’t be happier to support their great efforts.

We also love that we are running campaigns triggering off three different sports in the same market. We’re three games into the restart for WNBA, MLS, and MLB and the three Twin Cities non-profits above all support different teams.

Each team is off to a great start both on and off the field/court.

Take a look at all our active campaigns on your mobile device here. On your desktop, learn more about ScoreSide here.

Our MN Lynx campaign is driven by Assists (join up and help My Very Own Bed give an assist to a child transitioning into a safe, secure home with every Lynx assist).

Our Twins campaign is all about runs, both for the Twins and the great folks at Mile in My Shoes run their way to improving lives.

Our MNUFC campaign is 100% focused on engaging girls and women in sports and their community through Like a Girl.

You can’t go wrong with any of them. Let’s see how they are doing after three games for each team.

Donation Frequency

The Lynx are the clear winners here. Driving your giving engagement on Assists is definitely a good way to get some frequent donating action. The Twins are great hitters, but the Lynx average over 20 assists a game. And even though the Loons campaigns trigger off corners, saves, and goals, they still find themselves a distant second to the hoops champions. Winner: Lynx

3 Game Average Donation Count per User

All three MN Sports teams have had 3 games since restarting and triggering ScoreSide campaigns

Donation counts per minute (per out for baseball)

Donation counts per minute (per out for Twins) show some pretty frequent activity. The Lynx still come out on top by a long margin, but the Twins and Loons swap places. Looks like the Beautiful Game is about flow and not tallying stats. Winner: Lynx

Donation count per minute (or per out in baseball)

Driving campaigns off assists ratchets up the donation count per game minute stat for the Lynx. High impact!

User Counts

Both the Twins and Lynx campaigns started very recently (in fact, the Twins campaign has only been active for the last 3 games, so it missed the big 14-run powerfest vs the White Sox).

Our True North Elite / Like a Girl MN United campaigns started up before the regular season. [We’re only taking a look at the last three games and not the two regular season games that played before the hiatus, though].

The more established campaigns and the True North Elite passionate fan base make this one a gimme. Winner: Loons

Match level total Donations per user

Let’s get down to some brass tax. We have tons of action on the court, flow and nuance on the soccer pitch, and big hitting on the baseball diamond. But how much do donors give per match. The Lynx have started a little lower than expectations on the Assists column. Despite a 2-1 record, they are averaging fewer than 20 assists per game. However, thanks to a number of fans giving more than .10 per assist (thanks to our brand new ScoreSide campaign option of customized donation amounts), the average donation is actually a good chunk over ten cents. If you’ve been donating in connection to MN Basketball heroes, the Lynx, you’re averaging just shy of $2.50 per game right now.

Our Mile in My Shoes campaign started after the 14-2 win over the White Sox, so the game donation average is a little more refined at just under $1.00. But, if there’s one thing that a non-profit that gets their community engaged, active, and on the right track through running 5Ks to marathons understands, it’s that slow and steady is a great pace. Even at a shortened 60 games, MLB games rack up the donations.

Our big winner, here, though is the Loons. A number of donors are donating multiple dollars per goal and MNUFC has delivered. Our passionate Loons fans are tipping the scales at just under $5.00 per game. Let’s hope the MLS is Back Tournament leads to a second half season of play. Winner: Loons

Season Expectations

With all the big-tail, black swan, crazy outlier, brand new territory we’re in, it’s almost foolhardy (even more than usual) to make any kind of prediction on the full season.

But, with potentially 20+ games left for a currently hypothetical second half MLS season, MLB postponing games frequently but with 60 games on the schedule, and the Lynx playing just over 20 games this season, it’s worth taking a look at what our current projections are per fan in each sport.

The Loons come out again as the team to beat. Average season long donations could total just under $140.00. Obviously, with ScoreSide, users can come and go and leave a campaign at any time, so these are just projections. Every donor controls all of their giving all the time.

But, looking at what one person can do in just one season makes us really excited about what we can do as a community of fans.

The Twins and Lynx are neck and neck in season-long projections per user. Jump into the campaign of your choice and bump your donation amounts here and there and make sure Minnesota is the best and most impactful place to be a fan!
